Education

After obtaining his diploma in chemistry from a technical high school, Giuseppe Pascuzzi earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 2019 and 2021, respectively. During these studies, he gained a strong background in materials manufacturing, surface coatings, metal alloys, ceramics, nanostructured materials, and polymers.
In 2025, he earned his Ph.D. in Material Engineering from the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering "Giulio Natta" at Politecnico di Milano (Italy). His Ph.D. project was supervised by Prof. Gianmarco Griffini and focused on functional polymers and composites based on sustainable low-impact precursors (i.e., lignin and sulfur) for lithium and potassium batteries. During his Ph.D., he spent 7 months at POLYMAT of UPV/EHU (Spain) in the Innovative Polymers Group under the supervision of Prof. Davide Mecerreyes. Here, the research efforts aimed to develop polyethylene glycol (PEG) network containing different functionalized sulfur-based moieties as Solid Polymer Electrolytes for lithium batteries.

Research

After finishing his Ph.D., he began a postdoctoral fellowship at POLYMAT with the Innovative Polymers Group. His research interests focus on polymer chemistry and chemical synthesis, as well as the development and characterization of sustainable composites and functional polymers for innovative applications, batteries and energy storage systems.
