Education

Ms. Jaya Baranwal earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, and Physics in year 2017. She obtained her Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Lucknow in India in the year 2019. During her Masters, she focused on Medicinal chemistry research and completed a project on the production of novel fluorescent compounds for the detection of specific G-Quadruplex DNA structures.

Research

She previously worked at one of India’s premier institutes, the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research [NIPER] in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, India. She worked on medicinal chemistry, specifically the Synthesis of Quinolinium derivatives for nucleic acid interaction.

Ms. Jaya Baranwal worked at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB). As a Project associate and having experience in Method Development (Qualitative and Quantitative analysis of molecules) for various Biological Applications. Ms. Jaya has worked with sophisticated analytical equipment such as FT-IR (Bruker), HPLC (Agilent 1260 Infinity and 1260 Infinity II), LC-MS (AB SCIEX 3200 Q-TRAP), Agilent Q-TOF, GC-MS (Agilent 7890A with headspace sampler), and GC-FID (Agilent 7890A). LC-MS/MS: Thermo Scientific ORBITRAP Fusion Lumos.
