Education

Maria Paulis earned her BSc (1995), MSc (1996) and PhD (2000) in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country in Donostia-San Sebastián. Although she also posseses the BSc in Applied Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK). She is Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering of the University of the Basque Country since 2003.

Honors and awards

 

  • 2020: Director of POLYMAT Institute.
  • 2016-2020: Vicedean for International Relations of the Chemistry Faculty of the UPV/EHU.
  • 1995: KUTXA prize for the best marks in Chemistry BSc in the Chemistry Faculty of San Sebastián (UPV/EHU)
  • 1995: Beilby and Huddleston prize for the best marks in the Applied Chemistry specialty in the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow).

 

Research

 

Her research is focused on the production of waterborne polymer/polymer and polymer/inorganic nanocomposite dispersions. On the other hand, she has also interest in the film formation process of such waterborne polymeric dispersions.
