Education

Hansel Mathieu Coureur studied Chemistry and Physics at the University of Le Havre Normandy, France where he completed his Bachelor’s degree. His Bachelor thesis topic was on “Defibrillation of cellulosic fibers in deep natural bio-sourced eutectic solvents” and was done at the LLOMC UMR 6294 CNRS. He graduated his Master’s degree in Chemistry with a specialization Polymers and Surfaces at the University of Rouen Normandy, France in 2020.

In 2020, he completed his master thesis at Arkema in the business unit called Sartomer specialized in acrylate-based UV-curable coatings. He spent 6 months working on “Overcoming oxygen inhibition in radical polymerization and enhance textured coating aesthetic”. In March 2021, he joined the Functional Polymers Engineering group (IS2M, France) for his PhD in a joint thesis project between the University of Haute-Alsace (UHA),  France and University of Basque Country. In July 2021, he joined POLYMAT to carry on his PhD under the same co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Radmila Tomovska and Prof. Dr. Abraham Chemtob (IS2M UMR 7361 CNRS/UHA)

Research

Hansel is a PhD student for a joint thesis project under the co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Radmila Tomovska and Prof. Dr. Abraham Chemtob (IS2M UMR 7361 CNRS/UHA). His research is focused on the development of multilayered waterborne coating inspired by snakeskin epidermis.
