Education

Earlier in his B.Sc., he worked at Dr. David Leitch's lab at the University of Victoria on developing new Pd(0) precatalysts for cross-coupling transformations used to synthesize complex organic molecules for pharmaceutical applications. In 2022, he was a fellow of the Inorganic Chemistry Exchange program at Dr. Bryan Koivisto's lab at the Toronto Metropolitan University, where he worked on electrospinning conductive ferrocene containing polymer electrolytes for their application in dye-sensitized solar cells.

Research

Martin Trapero obtained his degree in Chemistry with Honours (2024) at the University of Victoria in Canada. During his thesis, he worked on the synthesis of a series of electronically modified cyclic phosphonate monomers, to be used as precursors for polyphosphonates through thermal ring-opening polymerization. The work was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Ian Manners.
