Education

Claire Morand studied Chemistry and Physics at the Graduate School of Chemistry, Biology and Physics of Bordeaux (ENSCBP), France. She spent 6 months in Auckland, New Zealand, as a work placement at PPG where she carried out her research project developing eco-friendly tinters for industrial paints. She graduated at ENSCBP with a Master's degree in Chemistry with a specialization in Polymer Chemistry in 2020.
In 2020, she completed her Master Thesis within the Technical Service and Development Team at The Dow Chemical company in Belgium. In September 2021, she joined the Catalysis and Sustainable Polymers Group (POLYMAT) and the spin-off POLYKEY to carry out a PhD under the co-supervision of Dr. Haritz Sardon (POLYMAT), Dr. Coralie Jehanno (POLYKEY/POLYMAT) and Prof. Andrew Dove (The University of Birmingham).

Research

In September 2021, Claire obtained a European PhD Fellowship Marie Curie to work on bio-sourced polyester resins for 3D printing for packaging applications at POLYMAT/POLYKEY and the University of Birmingham under the co-supervision of Dr. Haritz Sardon (POLYMAT), Dr. Coralie Jehanno (POLYKEY/POLYMAT) and Prof. Andrew Dove (The University of Birmingham). Her research is focused on the synthesis, the characterization of polyester resins and their trial in 3D printing for packaging applications.
