Education

Letizia Molteni earned her BSc in Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry from the University of Insubria in 2019, followed by an MSc in Chemistry from the same institution in 2020. During her studies, she specialized in organic synthesis, focusing on the development of novel building blocks for the preparation of non-natural amino acids and palladium-catalysed cyclization reactions for the synthesis of heterocyclic derivatives.
In 2024, she completed her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Milan, with a focus on sustainability in catalytic processes for the synthesis and transformation of biologically relevant heterocycles. During her PhD, she spent six months at the Max Planck Institute für Kohlenforschung in Germany, working in Prof. Benjamin List's group on the study of enantioselective cycloaddition reactions using organocatalysts.

Research

After completing her PhD, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Milan, specializing in sustainable chemistry. Her research focused on developing sustainable synthetic methods, particularly using organometallic catalysis and environmentally friendly solvents and technologies.
Since October 2024, she has joined POLYMAT as a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Haritz Sardon.
