Polymer recycling
We develop advanced recycling strategies to transform plastic waste into new resources and advance towards a real circular economy model.
Our research focuses on chemical recycling through depolymerization, with the aim of recovering the economic value of discarded materials and overcoming the linear consumption model of plastics. We design optimized strategies for different types of plastic waste, incorporating upcycling technologies that enable the obtainment of higher added-value raw materials.
We also study conventional physical recycling and the development of new reusable thermosetting materials, such as vitrimers, which facilitate more sustainable solutions in polymer end-of-life management.
