Leire Sangroniz and Vincenzo Calabrese Awarded Prestigious "la Caixa" Fellowships
We are thrilled to announce that two of our postdoctoral researchers, Dr. Leire Sangroniz and Dr. Vincenzo Calabrese, have been awarded the highly competitive "la Caixa" Foundation Junior Leader fellowships. This prestigious program, which granted only 40 postdoctoral fellowships out of over 750 applications this year, is designed to attract and retain outstanding scientific talent to drive research excellence across the Iberian Peninsula.
Dr. Leire Sangroniz returns to POLYMAT to implement her innovative line of research. After completing successful international postdoctoral stays at the University of Minnesota (USA) and the Università di Genova (Italy). Her current project focuses on the development and crystallization of sustainable polymeric materials.
Dr. Vincenzo Calabrese, a dedicated soft matter scientist, will utilize the fellowship to advance his investigations into the rheological and structural properties of polymer solutions and colloidal dispersions. By combining experimental techniques such as rheology and microfluidics, with theoretical approaches, he aims to answer fundamental questions in soft matter physics across different length and time scales.
These awards highlight POLYMAT's ongoing position as a hub for world-class talent and advanced macromolecular design. Congratulations to both researchers on this remarkable achievement!
