POLYMAT brings polymer science to Pint of Science 2026
Over the past three days, the bars of Donostia-San Sebastián were once again filled with science as part of the 2026 edition of Pint of Science Donostia. From Monday to Wednesday, researchers shared their work with the public in an informal and engaging atmosphere across different venues in Donostia and Errenteria.
POLYMAT made a major contribution to this year’s festival, with four talks and nearly 20 people involved in the organization, communication, and facilitation of the activities. We would especially like to thank the POLYMAT-EHU coordination team — Marta Ximenis, Francesca Perin, Elena Gabirondo, Daniele Mantione, and Elena Righini — for their excellent work throughout the event.
During the festival, POLYMAT researchers presented a wide variety of topics to the public, including liquid dressings for superficial wounds, polymer use and recycling, board games focused on polymer R&D, and photopolymerization, in sessions held in English, Spanish, and Basque.
The POLYMAT talks featured in this year’s programme were:
- Liquid dressing to treat superficial wounds (ENG) — Pegah Sanjarnia
- Polímeros bajo la lupa: uso, residuos y reciclaje (CAS) — Asier de Santos Larrañaga & Beatriz Ferrer Diaz
- Juegos de mesa sobre la I+D en polímeros (CAS) — Beñat Olave Fernández
- Fotopolimerizazioa (EUS) — Ander Leiza Balda & Irati Celada Cubero
