Alessandra Stevens Successfully Defends Her PhD Thesis at POLYMAT
On December 9th, Alessandra Stevens defended her PhD thesis, “Polyurea-Acrylic Hybrid Latexes”, in the Auditorium of the Joxe Mari Korta Building.
Supervised by Prof. Nicholas Ballard, her research focuses on the design, synthesis, and characterization of polyurea–acrylic hybrid latexes, contributing to the advancement of innovative polymer dispersions with potential applications in high-performance coatings and related materials. The work provides new insights into hybrid polymer architectures and their structure–property relationships, strengthening the scientific foundations for next-generation materials.
The thesis committee was composed of Prof. Johan Pieter Anna Heuts (Eindhoven University of Technology) as President, Prof. Miren Aguirre Arrese (EHU) as Secretary, and Dr. Rodrigo Navarro Crespo (ICTP-CSIC) as Member.
POLYMAT congratulates Dr. Stevens for her achievement and her valuable contribution to the field of polymer science.
