On November 20th, 2025, Mohammad Raef will defend his PhD thesis,
“Tailoring Multifunctional Polylactide Stereocomplexes: Providing Design Principles for Next-Generation Biodegradable Materials in Biomedical, Electronic and Structural Applications,” at the Aula de Grados (P1A1), Escuela de Ingeniería de Bilbao (UPV/EHU).

Supervised by Dr. Jone Muñoz and Prof. Agustin Etxeberria, Mohammad’s research focuses on designing multifunctional biodegradable materials based on polylactide stereocomplexes. His work aims to provide new strategies for sustainable materials with applications in biomedical devices, electronics, and structural systems, contributing to the advancement of next-generation high-performance polymers.

The thesis defense will be evaluated by a distinguished committee composed of Prof. Maria Lluïsa Maspoch (UPC) as President, Prof. Jose Ramon Sarasua (POLYMAT, EHU) as Secretary, and Dr. Juan Francisco Vega (IEM-CSIC) as Member.
