Ten POLYMAT Members Recognized Among the World’s Top 2% Most Influential Scientists

Ten POLYMAT members have been recognized in Stanford University’s prestigious list of the world’s top 2% most influential scientists, an annual ranking that identifies researchers whose work has had the greatest global impact within their fields.

This distinction highlights the excellence and international visibility of POLYMAT’s research community, as these ten professors represent 10% of the institute’s doctoral research staff. Their contributions span a wide range of disciplines, from polymer science and energy to organic chemistry, biomedical engineering, and chemical physics.

The Stanford World’s Top 2% Scientists List distinguishes between two categories:

· Single Year Impact, which highlights researchers with the greatest influence in publications and citations during the most recent year.

· Career Impact, which recognizes those whose scientific contributions have maintained exceptional influence throughout their entire research career.

The recognized researchers, ordered according to their position in the Career Impact category, are:

Prof. David Mecerreyes – Career and Single Year (EHU)
Prof. José M. Asua – Career and Single Year (EHU)
Prof. María Forsyth – Career and Single Year (Deakin University)
Prof. Timothy E. Long – Career and Single Year (Arizona State University)
Prof. Alejandro J. Müller – Career and Single Year (EHU)
Prof. Aurelio Mateo-Alonso – Career and Single Year (EHU)
Prof. Haritz Sardon – Career and Single Year (EHU)

Researchers recognized in the Single Year category only are:

Prof. Nicholas Ballard (EHU)
Prof. Sandra Camarero-Espinosa (EHU)
Prof. Fernando Ruipérez (EHU)

This achievement is a testament to the outstanding and sustained contributions of POLYMAT’s researchers to global advances in materials science and polymer research.
