GEP-SLAP 2022 Conference has gathered in San Sebastian 400 researchers of the polymers field

The GEP-SLAP scientific conference (, organized by POLYMAT researchers Alejandro J. Müller and David Mecerreyes and the CSIC Professor Carmen Mijangos, has been held this year in Donostia/San Sebastian from May 8 to 12 at the Kursaal Center. This congress focused on the science and application of polymers includes the "XVI Meeting of the Specialized Group of Polymers GEP of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) and the Royal Spanish Society of Physics (RSEF)" (GEP 2022), the “XVII Latin American Symposium on Polymers” (SLAP 2022) and the “XV Ibero-American Congress on Polymers” (CIP 2022).

Nearly 400 researchers from around the world have presented their latest results at this important event that encompasses all areas of polymer research and applications. As outstanding plenary speakers are the UPV/EHU professor and Scientific Director of BERC POLYMAT José María Asua who will open the inaugural session of the congress on May 8, which will also be attended by the Mayor of Donostia/San Sebastián Eneko Goia. The congress will feature plenary lectures by internationally renowned speakers such as Luis Liz-Marzán from CIC biomaGUNE, Sanat Kumar (Columbia University, New York), Nikos Hadjichristidis (KAUST University, Saudi Arabia) or researcher María Jesús Vincent, from the Center for Prince Felipe Research (Valencia).

The conference is also sponsored by national and international companies such as Beiersdorf, Burdinola, Attocube, Iesmat, Polykey, Grupo Dynasol, Antoon Paar or TA Instruments, as well as the participation of industry speakers.
