Santiago A. Sarasa San José completed his degree in Chemistry at the University of Zaragoza in 2020, after an R&D company internship, his Erasmus year at the Univerzita Karlova (Prague), and his Final Degree Project on Design of organic dyes for DSSCs at the Department of Organic Chemistry of Faculty of Science (Zaragoza).

Then he finished his master's degree in Molecular Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at the Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol, University of Valencia). During this time, he also developed his master's thesis at Polymer Therapeutics Laboratory of Centro de Investigacion Principe Felipe (CIPF, Valencia), focused on the synthesis of star-shaped polypeptides as theranostic nanomedicines, involving polymer synthesis and physicochemical characterization studies using different techniques.

He has joined POLYMAT to work on the development of polypeptide-based carriers for controlled release of drugs against topical infections. The research work will be done at the interface between the research groups of Prof. Aitor Larrañaga and Prof. Marcelo Calderón
