Education

Maialen Galdeano received her B. Sc. in Chemistry in 2017 from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), where, under supervision of Dr. Jon M. Matxain and Dr. Fernando Ruipérez, she carried out a theoretical study on the features of self-healing capacity on disulfide-based materials.

Right now she is enrolled in the European Master on Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modeling.

Currently she is also doing her PhD at POLYMAT, Basque Centre for Macromolecular Design and Engineering supervised by Dr. Fernando Ruipérez and Dr. Jon M. Matxain.

Research

Her research is focused in the computational study of the reaction mechanism and the role of non-covalent interactions in Frustrated-Lewis pair-based materials, with the aim of predicting their self-healing capacity and, thus, propose new compounds for future self-healing materials with improved features.
