Jakes Udabe Sanchez earned his B. Sc. in Chemisty from the University of the Basque Country in July 2019. In 2018, he attended the Medicinal Chemistry The Molecular Basis of Drug Discovery online course organized by Davidson College. Then, he did his final bachelor project at the University of the Basque Country based on the incorporation of zinc salts in sol-gel coatings for osseointegration improvement in dental implants, under supervision of Dr. María Dolores Gurruchaga and Dr. Isabel Goñi, obtaining the specialization in chemistry and biosciences, during this year he carried out a summer internship in Hannah instruments.

He did the Master in Chemistry and Polymers in the University of the Basque Country obtaining the specialization in applied chemistry (2019-2020). During his Master thesis he worked on the synthesis of a nanoparticle by emulsion polymerization for drug delivery system, under the supervision of Prof. Marcelo Calderon.

Since September 2020 he is a PhD Student at POLYMAT under the leadership of Prof. Marcelo Calderon. His current research is focused on the development of multiresponsive nanogels for the release of therapeutic proteins through biological barriers for biomedical applications.
