Position

The role of the Project Assistant will be to support the tasks related to the management of research projects, reporting to the General Manager. This includes project administration and fulfilling the reports and financial statements of national and international grants.

She supports the Project Manager and the scientists of POLYMAT on proposal writing, budget drafting and submission of projects. Furthermore, she assists in the area of scientific indicators.

Education

Dr. Maike C. Lukowiak studied Chemistry (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin, Germany). She obtained her PhD in Chemistry in 2014 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rainer Haag (FU Berlin, Germany).

During her time at FU Berlin she realized scientific research visits at ETH Zürich, Switzerland and at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), USA.

In her doctoral thesis she modified hydrophobic polyolefins with hydrophilic polyglycerol (PG) to obtain improved properties and to investigate their potential biomedical application. The work was divided into two areas of research, bioinert surfaces and macromolecular carriers for drug delivery.

After finishing her PhD she dedicated herself to Science Management. She worked as Personal Assistant to the Vice President of International Affairs and as Pre-award Grant Manager/Expert for Research Funding (Division Research) in the central university administration of FU Berlin.
