Education

Mario Iván Peñas Núñez received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry in the year 2017 from the University of Navarra, Spain. His BSc Thesis "Fluid dynamic characterization of hydrogels and their application to photocatalytic wastewater purification" was carried out under the supervision of Prof. José Ramón Isasi and Prof. Javier Peñas at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Navarra.

In the year 2018 he earned his Master's Degree in Chemistry and Polymers from the University of the Basque Country. His MSc Thesis "Rheology and 3D Printing: New materials based on PVC" was developed in POLYMAT under the supervision of Dr. Itxaso Calafel and Dr. Roberto Aguirresarobe.

Research

He worked as research assistant in POLYMAT in 2018 in PVC copolymers rheological studies and characterization. During his PhD project, he is focused on the study of biodegradable polyesters from the point of view of structure-properties of these materials. His PhD Thesis project is being developed at the Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología de Polímeros (ICTP) of CSIC (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) in Madrid, under the supervision of Dr. Rebeca Hernández and at POLYMAT in San Sebastián under the supervision of Prof. Alejandro J. Müller.
