Education

Sharon Monaci obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry for Industry and Environment from University of Pisa (Italy) in 2018. Her Bachelor thesis focused on the polyphenols extraction by derivatives of Vitis Vinifera.
She earned a Master's Degree in Industrial Chemistry from University of Pisa (Italy) in 2020. Her Master thesis focused on the preparation of polymeric matrix composite materials with NIR reflective properties, suitable for greenhouses or automotive application. Part of the project was carried out at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands). The work was carried out under the directions of Professor G. Ruggeri (University of Pisa) and Professor F. Picchioni (University of Groningen).

Research

Past researches has covered the characterization and preparation of polymers and composites, and processes of extraction and characterization in the field of environmental chemistry.
Future research will involve the study of polymeric corrosion inhibitors.
