Education

Aitor Barquero Salaberria earned his B. Sc. in Chemistry by the University of the Basque Country in July 2014. He carried out his bachelor project in Polymat (Polymerization Processes Group), under supervision of Prof. María Jesús Barandiaran. During summer 2013 he did an internship in the Polymerization Processes Group to study the effect of the initiator on film properties of emulsion polymers.

During 2014-2015 he did the Master in Applied Chemistry and Polymeric Materials in the University of the Basque Country obtaining the specialization in polymers. During the master project he studied the emulsion copolymerization between vinyl acetate and vinyl trimethoxy silane under the supervision of Prof. María Jesús Barandiaran and Prof. Jose Ramon Leiza.

Research

Since October 2015 he is doing his PhD in POLYMAT under the supervision of Prof. María Jesús Barandiaran and Prof. Jose Ramon Leiza funded by the Industrial Liaison Program.

His research is focused on the study of the effect of operational variables on the emulsion copolymerization of vinyl acetate copolymers with reactive alkoxysilanes.
