Education

Ulyana Semenenko received her BSc in 2019 from University of Oviedo and her MSE in Advanced Materials Engineering in 2021 from University of Basque Country.
During her BS in Chemistry, she worked with electrochemical and enzymatic biosensors, and she did synthesis and characterization of polyphosphazenes and other inorganic nanostructures. During her MSE in Advanced Materials she synthesized, characterized, and thermally processed bioabsorbable and biocompatible polyesters with focused application in biomedicine.
She has joined Polymat for her PhD studies on January 2021, under the supervision of Prof. Marcelo Calderón and Prof. Aitor Larrañaga.

Research

Ulyana Semenenko is currently working on a PhD research project at the interface between the research groups of Prof. Marcelo Calderón (Responsive Polymer Therapeutics Group) and Prof. Aitor Larrañaga (Group in Science and Engineering of Polymeric Biomaterials).
The research project focuses on the development of polypeptide-based nanocarriers in order to treat multiple skin infections.
