Education

Maialen Argaiz earned her B. Sc in Chemistry by the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) in July 2016. From September 2015 to June 2016, she was a student in Strathclyde University (Scotland). She carried out her bachelor project in Strathclyde University under the supervision of Prof. John Murphy. During summer 2015 she did an internship in POLYMAT (Polymerization Processes Group) under the supervision of Prof. José M. Asua and Dr. Ehsan Mehravar.

During 2016-2017 she did the Master in Applied Chemistry and Polymeric Materials in the University of the Basque Country obtaining the specialization in polymers.

Research

Since October 2016, she is doing her phD in Polymat under the supervision of Prof. Radmila Tomovska and Dr. Miren Aguirre. Her project is part of the Industrial Liaison Program (ILP). Her research project is focused on introduction of ionic interparticle complexation within polymer films for improvement of properties and performance of waterborne protective coatings.
