Education

Tobias Kuhnt obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry at the University of Paris Sud (Orsay, France).
He earned his PhD in 2014 at the Adolphe Merkle Institute (Fribourg, Switzerland) working on an industrial project of fragrance release from small molecules and cellulose nanoparticles. He continued then to work as a postdoc on the development of so called one component nanocomposites, based on cellulose nanocrystals.
In 2017 he moved to the Netherlands where he worked as a postdoc at the MERLN Institute (Maastricht University) on biocompatible and bioresorbable inks for digital light printing. Here, he also investigated printable shape morphing materials for tissue regeneration.
Tobias joined POLYMAT on January 2021 as a postdoc in the polymerization process group

Research

His research interests are focused on new functional materials, biocompatible materials and biofabrication technologies
At POLYMAT he will work under the supervision of Prof. Asua on dental coatings.
