Dr. Ana B. Sanchez earned her BS in Chemistry and her MS in Nanoscience from the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU). She spent one academic year at Manchester Metropolitan University (United Kingdom) as an Erasmus student from September 2009 to June 2010. During this year she carried out a research project in the Faculty of Science and Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Chris Liauw.

She also carried out a summer secondment in 2009 at Inasmet-Tecnalia (Basque Country) in the Energy Department.

In December of 2014 she got her PhD from Material Physics Center (CSIC - UPV/EHU) and the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) under the supervision of Prof. José A. Pomposo. During the mentioned PhD, she spent 3 months in the Department of School of Chemistry at Newcastle University (United Kingdom) under the supervision of Dr. David Fulton.

During her pre-doctoral research, her research focused on the efficient construction of single-chain polymer nanoparticles mimicking disordered proteins for nanomedicine and chemoselective catalysis applications.

Her current research topics are focused on: the design and synthesis of polymers using organic catalysis and the design of more sustainable catalysts for the synthesis of polyamides, polyurethanes and polyesters.
