Education

Guiomar Hernández Gutiérrez earned her B. Sc. in Chemistry by the University of Valladolid in June 2012. From September to November 2012 she was a student at University of Texas at Austin where her research was focused on polymer films for gas separation. In 2012-2013 she got a grant to attend the Master of High Specialization in Plastics and Rubber organized by the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP) and the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology in Madrid (ICTP-CSIC). The objective of her master thesis was the synthesis and characterization of dibenzoxazine resins materials with plausible high fractional free volume and high surface area for CO2 capture, under supervision of Dr. Ángel E. Lozano and Dr. Cristina Álvarez.

In September 2013 she attended the Emulsion Polymerization Course organized by POLYMAT.

Research

Since September 2013 she is a PhD Student at POLYMAT under supervision of Dr. David Mecerreyes. Her research is focused on the development of renewable polymer electrodes within the Innovative Polymers for Energy Storage ERC project.
