Education

Aleksandar obtained his BSc. degree in Chemistry at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia in 2016. During his bachelor thesis he examined the possibility of removal of pesticides from water medium with oxidized and non-oxidized MWCNTs.
In October, 2017 he moved to Regensburg, Germany where he spent the following two and a half years as a master student at University of Regensburg being a part of a master program "Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis". Besides several internal research stays in that time frame, a two-months internship in the Industrial Sustainable Chemistry Research Group held by Prof. Gert-Jan Gruter at Van't Hoff Institute of Molecular Sciences was carried out. In those two months spent in Amsterdam, he conducted research on the synthesis of novel bio-based polymers.
As a part of his master thesis, Aleksandar worked on optimization of reaction pathway of Polyethersulfones in GM Advanced Materials and Systems Research division - BASF SE, Ludwigshafen under supervision of Prof. Burkhard König and industrial partners.

Research

In January, 2021 Aleksandar joined the Polymerization Processes Group
(POLYMAT) to perform his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Nicholas Ballard and Prof. Jose R. Leiza. His research is focused on novel strategies to Reduce End of Reaction VOCs in waterborne coatings. His PhD thesis is a part of the Industrial Liaison Program (ILP).
